Waste Collection Information


Garbage Pickup - WEDNESDAYS
  • No pickup on holidays.  
  • Please do not put out your roll carts before or on holidays. 
  • Residents who leave their carts out on days other than the collection day(s) are subject to fines.
  • Collection begins at 7:30 a.m. It should be removed from the curb by 7:30 p.m. on your WEDNESDAY.
  • Your cart must be off the curb and back behind your house by the end of the collection day.  
Recycling Pickup - WEDNESDAYS
  • You may recycle #1 and #2 plastics, aluminum, tin, and all paper. NO glass. NO cardboard. 

Residential Yard Waste Pickup - MONDAY

  • Leaves, grass clippings, pine straw, and other yard waste must be placed separately from your household garbage on the curb for collection. 
  • Limbs should be cut to less than 5 feet in length; and pine straw, leaves, clippings, trimmings, etc., must be bagged in plastic bags for collection or you may use your roll cart for yard waste on your yard waste collection day. 
CART STORAGE  
Store your cart out of sight so that it is not visible from the street by a passing car. Carts should be kept out of sight until your collection day.
REPORT VIOLATIONS
It shall be the duty and obligation of a citizen to report alleged violations to the officials of the City for proper enforcement.  Any questions or problems you may have with the service should be directed to the Sanitation Division at 843. 665.3296.

Police Department Information


It's confusing…who do you call and when? Often, one wants to report a crime or suspicious activity, but is not sure exactly which number to call. 
Here's some clarification: 
  • If you see something/someone suspicious, call 911. These are top-priority calls and the suspicious person can still be apprehended by FPD.
  • If it's not an emergency but you want a police officer to come out, call Officer Scott Williamson 843-260-5515. FPD will come out, but emergency calls take precedence.
  • If it's not an emergency, but you want to file a report only, call 
    665-3191. A report will be taken, but an officer will not come        out. This can be used when something is stolen, but the thief is not present.
  • If you want to report a drug crime, call 661-5950 (drug hotline).
