Beautification Committee

Picture
The mission of Timrod Park Neighborhood Beautification Committee is to enhance the overall visual appearance of our neighborhood and the quality of life in our community.
We have 5 divisions to this committee consisting of:
Code Division- The Codes Division identifies the ordinances of Florence that are designed to enhance the appearance of community and educates residents about them.

Communications Division
- aims to effectively facilitate the strategic planning and functioning of the committee.  E-mails and other forms of mass media are used to provide information about Beautification and community projects to its members and supporters.

Fundraising
- This division focuses on a series of events designed to raise the dollars needed to carry out beautification projects.  These events will include a fundraising letter campaign, house party, a bake sale and 2011 Home & Garden Tour, etc.

Futures Committee
- Is a 2-fold division.  It is a brainstorming division that welcomes any and all ideas with a purpose other than gardening that help beautify Timrod Park Neighborhood.  It is also finds ways, such as the the "Yard of the Month", "Holiday Lighting" and others, to encourage community members to see how beautiful we truly are!

Gardening Committee
- Is devoted to the enhancement of the public areas of Timrod Park Neighborhood and for caring for specific floral beds and containers.  Plants Appropriate plants are selected each season and maintained by the committee and the help of the City Works Division.  The division also hosts a variety of horticultural activities for adults and children throughout the year.

We welcome all- from "black thumbs" to Master Gardeners.  The only prerequisite is in enthusiasm and willingness to help!
